Ubifone, Skype Free Internet Mobile Phone Calls War Begins

Jerusalem-----August 3 ......Ubifone, a global telecommunications company which has been offering both fixed and mobile free phone calls over the Internet, now has Skype in a panic.

"Ubifone was very proud to remind both our commercial and private free Internet telephone call clients two days ago of Ubifone's exclusive and free global mobile Internet phone call services," said Sam Kfir-El, executive agent for Ubifone. "Yesterday, Skype responded with an announcement offering, not their own service, but rather another company which has start-up mobile Internet phone call technology which must still rely on using a PC. Any senior marketing executive or university student who just finished Marketing 101, knows that you don't launch a business and or consumer product during August when people are on vacation, fishing, hiking or drinking beers by the beach.

PSC bid to undo rip-off is too late

BGE customers had to pay Constellation almost $1 billion to take ownership of valuable plants they had financed. These days Constellation charges BGE customers way more for power than what a regulated system would have allowed, and makes a lot more money, too.

But a deal is a deal. It's hard to see how Public Service Commission Chairman Steven B. Larsen's attempt to revisit what happened nine years ago will make much difference.

Morgellons mystery: figment of imagination?

Sue Laws remembers the night it began. It was October 2004, and she'd been working in the basement home office of her Gaithersburg, Md., brick rambler where she helps her husband run their tree business. She was sitting at her computer getting the payroll out, when all of a sudden she felt as if she were being attacked by bees. The itching and s tinging on her back was so intense that she screamed for her husband, Tom. He bounded downstairs and lifted her shirt, but he couldn't see anything biting her. She insisted something must be. To prove there was nothing there, he stuck strips of thick packing tape to her back and ripped them off. Then they took the magnifying eyepiece that Tom, an arborist, uses to examine leaves for fungus and blight and peered at the tape.

"That's when we saw them.

Young Serbian leads charge with maiden grand slam win

I'm so proud of myself in the first place and being the first Serb to win a grand slam.

"I think it's a crazy house back in my country.

"To Jo, unbelievable tournament. You should be proud of yourself.

"If he won tonight, it would be deserved, so well done."

Revered more for his ability to mimic than menace until last year, Djokovic lost only one set for the tournament in a march that included a semi-final crushing of Roger Federer.

Djokovic, 20, is the first Serbian player to win a grand slam singles crown -- and it is unlikely to be his last.

Equally, Tsonga showed he had not fluked into the final with an extraordinary first-set and late-match recovery.

Djokovic's victory marked the end of the duopoly shared by Federer and Rafael Nadal since 2005.

The Timber Inn, a fixture on U.S. Highway 101 in Coos Bay for more than 50 years, closed its doors Tuesday."We’re broke," said Donis Frare, who co-owns the motel and restaurant with her husband, Leo. Frare said this morning that her husband is in the hospital and she did not wish to discuss the closure of the Timber Inn."Right now, I’m not looking beyond getting my husband well," she said in a phone conversation.Frank Kinsey, the former maintenance supervisor at the hotel, said employees were informed of the decision at 10 a.m. New Year’s Day."The owners got us all together and said, ‘We are closing because we are broke,’" he said.An employee at the inn for the past four years, Kinsey said the announcement was a complete surprise. He noted that renovations had recently been completed to the upstairs lounge to make it more like a night club instead of a sports bar."We weren’t making cuts.
